What we collect — and what we do with it
The short version
SNEAKERS STORE collects what it needs to sell you sneakers and get them to your door: your account details, your orders, and the address they ship to. We do not sell that to anyone.
This policy describes how this store actually works. It is a starting point, not legal advice — have counsel review it against the law that applies to your business before you rely on it.
What we collect
All of it comes from you, or from your use of the shop. We do not buy data about you from anyone else.
Account details
Your name, email address and password when you register. The password is stored hashed — nobody here can read it, which is why a reset is the only way back into a locked account.
Order and delivery details
What you bought, what it cost, your shipping and billing addresses, and your phone number when you give one so the courier can reach you. We keep this for as long as we are required to keep records of a sale.
Payment details
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number is entered directly into Stripe's form and never reaches our servers — we see only the result of the charge and the last digits Stripe shows us.
Technical data
Standard server logs: IP address, browser, and the pages requested. They are what lets us find a bug or notice someone hammering the login form.
Why we use it
Each purpose below is the reason a specific piece of the list above exists. Nothing is collected for a purpose that is not on this page.
- To take, fulfil and deliver your orders, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To keep your account working: signing in, verifying your email, resetting a password.
- To email you about an order — confirmation, shipment, status changes and returns. These are transactional; you cannot switch them off while an order is open.
- To take payment and to meet the accounting and tax records we are obliged to keep.
- To keep the shop secure and working, including detecting abuse of the login and checkout.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have some or all of the following. Write to us and we will act on it within the period the law allows.
- Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong — most of it you can edit yourself under Account.
- Ask us to delete your account and the data that is not tied to a record we must keep, such as a completed sale.
- Object to a particular use, or ask us to restrict it.
- Complain to your data protection authority if you think we have got it wrong.
Keeping it safe
Traffic runs over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and card data never lands on our servers. No system is perfect, but if a breach affects you we will tell you.
How long we keep things
Account data lives as long as your account does. Order records outlive it, because tax and accounting rules require us to keep them. Server logs are rotated on a short cycle.
Children
The shop is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us theirs, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes are announced by email.
